Another artist suggested by Peenko, King Post Kitsch really took me by surprise. Generally when people send me links to an artist’s bandcamp page (even esteemed personalities such as peenko) I prepare myself for the worst, and sometimes the preparation helps. Sometimes, as was the case here, the preparation was pointless.
The EP from King Post Kitsch appears to be called King Post Kitsch, a three-song, 8:51 journey through Indie, Folk, Beatles-sounding psychedelia, Glam-Rock, summery banjos, xylophones and lush vocals. It may sound like a strange combo but on each of the three songs it works. Well and truly. It’s unfortunate that he only has three songs because an entire album of this would be wondrous. I’ve been listening to it for two days straight now.
