[Discover/Listen/Download] – Houses – [New Wave/Ambient/Shoegaze]

Formerly Sun House but now Houses and with an album coming out late Summer/early Autumn called “All Night”, that’s about all there is to know about the band.

I spoke to him yesterday but didn’t ask how many people are involved, who’s who, how long they’ve been around etc.  In the age of the internets I think it’s good to have some mystery.  He is in negotiations with a label to release an EP sharpish, but he did send me an MP3 of his only publicly available song at the moment.  Reading around it looks as though he had a video or two up on YouTube but took them down for unspecified reasons.

You might’ve noticed I’ve been posting quite a lot of chilled, ambient, summer music in the last couple of weeks.  That’s because with the dark of winter firmly behind us I’ve been seeking the heat and the wind and the thunderstorms and this music is perfect for each of those.  It’s breezy and calm, lush and overgrown with sun-drenched layers.
