It’s hard to believe that The Zookeepers are still as young as they are (I didn’t ask, but I’m thinking they’re about 11) when you consider not only their polished and well delivered sound, but that they’ve released SEVEN albums. In the last FOUR years. That’s damn prolific. And they’re only 11. I think.
They’re creating music that is unbelievably fun, catchy, danceable, and witty. Think of Cake covering At The Drive-in, but instead of the words being screamed, they’re occasionally sung and occasionally rapped. Their latest album “Good Looking Out” is easily one of the more standout albums of the year and you could play it from start to finish at any party and get nary a complaint.
All of their albums are available for download from their Bandcamp page, either for free or for a “Name Your Price”. You can listen to (and download) three of their songs below; “Lady Gaga“, “Custardy Battle” (featuring Kid Static), and “RPG Theme“, all from “Good Looking Out”. They’re in the process of announcing their latest tour dates on MySpace and will have the final dates and venues up within the next week or two.
