Croy based, Post-Rock Pop outfit Campfires in Winter celebrate the release of their debut EP “Cardboard Ships” on ‘stand & wave’ with a mini ‘flat’ tour. The band are embarking on a series of intimate acoustic gigs, playing for fans in their very own living rooms! This is a new concept in band promotion, breaking down the barriers between fans and the music and taking the shared experience to new and unparalleled levels!
The Campfires In Winter’s sound has previously been compared to the likes of Broken Social Scene, The Twilight Sad, and Coatbridge post rockers Kasule. Their debut EP, “Cardboard Ships” will be available at the gigs in the form of 50 hand-made limited edition CDs, and as a free download available here: http://campfiresinwinter.com
Campfires In Winter have been friends since primary school and have been gigging regularly for the past 2 years. The band have been working hard on crafting their sound culminating in their excellent debut ep which contains metaphorical, character driven songs filled with emotional resonance. Now an integral part of the Glasgow music scene, Campfires have recently shared the stage with local luminaries Mitchell Museum, RM Hubbert and Kid Canaveral. In addition to this the band have recorded sessions for Leith FM, Elba Studios and Glasgow Podcart.
They kick off their ‘Flat Tour’ on Monday the 26th of July until Friday the 30th where it will climax with an appearance at the Pin Up Nights Festival at the Flying Duck.
The band are set to release their debut album on ‘stand & wave’ in 2011 and you can hear the EP below. If you’re around Glasgow in the next week or two make sure to check them out, if there’s space.
If you head over to their Bandcamp page you can hear another another song not posted here.
