As I said with bitterTV back in July, the chilled-out and synthed-up sounds of the electronic waves-of-chill that have been known to emanate from many a blog whenever the snow recedes and the sun parks it’s arse in the sky, doesn’t normally conjure up images of Russia or the eastern bloc.
Whilst I try to refrain from using the term “chillwave”, I think it’s actually a half-decent term that only slightly applies here. The guy behind Cosmonaut Grechko is Victor, a 600 year-old tree making a kind of Electro-Dance-Chillwave hybrid with beats that wouldn’t be out of place on a dance floor, electro-synths that hold their own against the likes of DOM, and tripped-out spotty waves of Dream-Pop akin to Houses or Blackbird Blackbird.
All of the music he’s making is available for free from his Soundcloud page, but below you can hear and download four of his songs found on his Soundcloud page.
