A few days ago we posted another new track from Amy Winehouse’s posthumous album “Lioness: Hidden Treasures” called “Halftime”, a number more suited for her debut album “Frank”, and today we’ve got yet another new song from the album.

When I posted “Halftime” I mentioned that there was only one more new song of hers from the album we were yet to hear, in reference to her cover of “The Girl From Ipanema”, but I’d forgotten about this song. “Between The Cheats” might just be my favourite of her new songs, possibly because it has a bit of a Christmas feel to it but never being a huuuuuge fan of Jazz, this drops that jazzy sound for a more upbeat pop sound like on her hit album “Back To Black”.

    One of her best songs she’s ever done.  Her lyrics are muddled under the tragedy of her voice seeping through the uptempo beat.  It is a perfect song for one of the greatest musicians of my generation and comparable to many of the famous musicians of the 60s.  Amy you had such a talent, and I know you always had a lingering hope for your future…and though you are no longer here, your music will inspire some artist to come out and finish what you started.  Until then, I will keep listening to your music and I will feel what you feel when you sing.

    I LOOVE Amy I really do, but I’m also realistic, and her performance on this song is….  well I’m not going to go any further bc I know I’ll piss some fans off.  I just feel sad for that horrible disease taking over her life (alcoholism)
