Disclaimer – Each year the SXSW organisers have been releasing hundreds and hundreds of songs by the artists who take part in the festival and bundling it up into a torrent for everyone to download and enjoy. It’s completely legal as they’ve been given permission by the artists and labels to offer these songs for free, and this year was no exception. So don’t be scared of the big bad wolf coming to get you for downloading them. Just enjoy.
Yesterday I posted the fourth part of “Listen Before You Buy’s Completely Free and Legal Super Colossal Monster Head-Eating SXSW Listening Party!”, posting 112 songs that you can listen to and download, starting with bands from 9-C.
Today I have letters T-Z totaling another 153 songs that you can listen to and download, and that marks the end of the free downloads. Since I’m unable to attend this year’s SXSW and there are plenty of others unable to attend too, I thought this would be a good way to bring the festival to us unlucky ones.
To listen to a song you can use the Streampad player at the bottom of the page, hit play in the bottom left and just let it play all of the songs. You can even open it in a new window and let it play in the background as you go about your online business. If you hear a song that you like, check out my directory, right click on the song, click “Save Link As” and download it to your computer. If you want all of the songs easily, just grab the torrent (3.35GB).
The songs were initially appearing in alphabetical order but something got fubar’ed along the way and now they seem to be partially alphabetised.
