Listen: Frightened Rabbit – State Hospital

You may, or may not, recall that last week I posted a new Frightened Rabbit track called “State Hospital” that’d been getting some live play at their shows and was then performed acoustically and live in a radio session.

Well if you salivated like a rabid zombie dog over the stripped down version, just point your fingers below to that play button and take in the finishe studio version of it, complete with orchestration and production. It was played on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio One show yesterday and the radio rip can now be heard below, and myself and Peter from TwentyFourBit had a wee exchange through email about the new track.

We both expressed genuine excitement for the EP that “State Hospital” is from and for the band “keeping it real”, especially now that they’re on a major label like Atlantic. The EP will be released on September 24th, will definitely have a vinyl version, and there’s a video for the song coming out soon too.
