In August we tipped London’s Michael Kiwanuka to go on to do great things and he’s following up on that prediction (thanks, Michael!) with almost every new song he releases.
In short, he’s like the heartbroken lovechild of Bill Withers and Otis Redding, if two dudes were able to have babies decades after one of them died. Soulful and brimming with passion, songs like “I’m Getting Ready” remind me of those days in the height of Summer where you’ve got nothing to do but sit in the sun and melt, dragonflies above your head, ants in your picnic basket, and everything moving in slow motion.
“Home Again” is a new track from an upcoming new EP of the same name, coming out on January 1st via Polydor before he drops his album proper in March 2012. Why are you still reading? You should be on your third listen by now!
