If you follow us on Twitter you’ll know how excited I got when Jeremy over at Vagrant dropped off Active Child’s debut album “You Are All I See” in my inbox.
I was fairly fucking excited, and I ended up listening to the album for most of the night. Over the last couple of months we’ve made a few posts about him, so hopefully by now you should be acquainted with him and his work, but if not you should check out one of the best songs of the year in “You Are All I See”, his collaboration with How To Dress Well on “Playing House”, and our Introduction piece about him.
We’ll have a review of the whole album coming out as the release date approaches, but I can tell you this. It now holds a spot on my top albums of the year list, here exactly I can’t tell you yet, but this is one of the most exquisite listens of the year so far, from the melodies to the production, from his voice to landscapes of sound he creates from one song to the next. This is gorgeous from front to back, side to side, and below I’ve been granted with honour of posting one of standout tracks from the album, “Way Too Fast”.
His debut album “You Are All I See” drops on August 23rd via Vagrant.
