[Listen] – New Song By Beady Eye – “The Roller”

The last song that Beady Eye revealed (“Four Letter Word”) I thought was fairly poor.

Standard end-of-Oasis drivel, but this new song that was just played on various radio stations around the world is actually good, I can get behind this.  I still don’t hold out much hope for their album, it’ll probably have maybe one or two decent tunes and the rest will be throwaways, but I’m really looking forward to hearing what Noel has planned.

Even if he just does the tried-and-tested Oasis sound, he’s still far more creative and forward thinking than Liam, and mentioning Noel Gallagher and “forward thinking” in the same sentence probably never happens.  Anyway, it seems like they’re releasing bits from the album (“Different Gear, Still Speeding”) before it’s released on February 28th, and this is apparently their first single, coming out at the end of February too.

    I hear you out, mate, but if you’ve heard those 30 second previews, they sound way more like The Roller than the other two released songs.

    Four Letter Word and Bring the Light stick out when you’re listening to the previews because their sound is just completely different to the rest of the album.

    So in my opinion, the album is gonna be epic, especially if you’ve heard the previews of ‘Millionaire’, ‘Wigwam’, ‘Three Ring Circus’, The Beat Goes On’, ‘For Anyone’, ‘The Morning Son’ and 2 more that I can’t recall off the top of my head.

    Which makes way more than the 2 good songs you reckon are gonna be on the album.

    But I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!
