Because I’m a music nerd, Record Store Day is one of my favorite events of the year. The thought of numerous bands releasing new stuff all on the same day makes me pretty psyched. One of the releases planned for this year’s event (happening April 16th) is a split single from Bear In Heaven and Lindstøm. Bear In Heaven cover Lindstrøm’s “Lovesick” (a track off of his 2010 collab with Christabelle, “Real Life Is No Cool”), while he takes on their track “Lovesick Teenagers”.
Bear In Heaven’s version of “Lovesick” honestly sounds as though it would fit in perfectly on their debut album, 2009′s “Beast Rest Forth Mouth”. The cover continues the band’s love of afro-pop inspired beats, oozy synths and haunting vocals. The song clocks in at over seven minutes and the band spends the latter part jamming with psychedelic-style guitars. It sounds great!
