[Listen] – New Song By Coldplay – “Every Treadrop Is A Waterfall”

Remember “Parachutes”? I miss “Parachutes”.

But hey, Coldplay are still here and today they’ve revealed their latest single, the [sigh] anthemic “Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall”. This is obviously intended to be a singalong kind of tune: they’ve kept the melody simple, you’ll only need to hear it once to remember it forever, and topped it off with a mandatory epic bridge. It’s heavy with synths, with an opening not all that dissimilar to Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite” [yup]. Say what you like, it’s catchy as heck and you can expect it to be everywhere this Summer. Meanwhile, we wait for Coldplay’s next album, produced by Brian Eno, that’s been 18 months in the making so far. Fingers crossed?

[Props to The Quietus and their twitter followers for spotting where those opening synths are actually ripped from. Brilliant.]
