FINALLY!
It’s been a long time coming for new music from one of the worlds most talented yet under-appreciated bands. Last week lead singer Guy Garvey went on a radio show in the U.K. whilst inebriated and accidentally let slip the title of their forthcoming fifth album “build a rocket boys!” (all lowercase with exclamation mark at the end).
Now we have a new song with accompanying live video of them playing it at Blueprint Studios in Manchester where most of the album was recorded. As with so many Elbow songs from albums past that build and build and build upon itself until it explodes in spades, this one does too, but without the exploding part, which might be why it works so well. It doesn’t need to go any further than it’s already gone.
Give it a listen and a watch the video below. ”build a rocket boys!” is out on March 7th 2011.
