You know what makes an otherwise completely shite morning/week better?
New Santigold. NEW SANTIGOLD! It’s kinda hard to believe that it’s been three years since her Alternative-Electronic-Indie self-titled debut dropped and took the musical world by storm. Since then she’s toured the world, inspired mass-dance-athons, worked with various and sundry musicians and also disappeared and reappeared numerous times, but today Jay-Z’s new lifestyle site posted the first track from her that features Yeah Yeah Yeahs‘ Karen O on vocals too.
The song is straight up Santigold and with a hint of M.I.A. thrown in for good measure; layered vocals, yelling, maxed-out synths and six shades of awesome. I’m now officially excited for another new album that I wasn’t aware was even in the works more than 6 hours ago.
