It’s only been nine days since The Antlers graced our tiny and slightly misshapen ears with the first new music from their second album “Burst Apart”, due out on May 10th via Frenchkiss.
That first song, “Parentheses”, was gorgeous and as I said way back then, it sounded like a combination of Wild Beasts and Radiohead, and incidentally the former are also releasing their new album on the same day. Coincidence? Yeah I think so…
For the last couple of days though they’ve had “Every Night My Teeth Are Falling Out”, another new song, floating around on radio stations and wouldn’t you know it’s just as great as “Parentheses”. The former was slightly paranormal with singer Peter Silberman’s ghost-like tenor hovering over the searing guitars and creepy bassline, and the new jam is far more upbeat and sprightly (my word of the month) and sheds the Wild Beasts comparison but keeps the Radiohead one with hints of “Hail To The Thief”….kinda.
Check out the radio rip below and get your wee buns excited.
UPDATE – Thanks to their label Frenchkiss you can now get the official MP3.
