“Next In Line” is the first taste from Walk The Moon‘s three song EP Anna Sun which comes out tomorrow.
It’s been barely a year since Walk The Moon first showed up on the scene with their self-released I Want! I Want!, which was overflowing with both confidence and a pop-awareness that most veteran bands fall hard on their face attempting. These Cincinnati natives signed with RCA back in July and “Next In Line” is our first chance to see what direction a major label would push them in.
Surprisingly things appear to be unchanged which seems hard to believe but after hearing friends of mine praising Madonna‘s half-time performance, quite honestly, I’ll believe anything now.
There’s isn’t another thing in the world I love more than a long drive with a new crush, facing the night with someone, things feeling important, massive, on track, all of the above are in this song… What’s not to love? “Next In Line” puts a nice shine on the whole “holding onto youth” experience which, from what they’ve given us since surfacing, could easily be said about their sound in general.
