Siskiyou will be putting out “Keep Away The Dead” on October 4, one of the more promising albums of 2011. Comprised of Great Lake Swimmers members Colin Huebert and Erik Arnesen who are now stepping away from the duo aspect that has been Siskiyou up to this point and adding full-time members Shaunn Watt and Peter Carruthers to the dynamic. The shift feels natural and is an obvious positive step for these guys.
“Twigs And Stones” also features Colin Stetson lending his amazing presence on the saxophone which is a nice little coincidence considering how Arcade Fire-esque this song is, which is a compliment in the fullest.
As a long time Great Lake Swimmers fan I can’t say that I enjoy Siskiyou more but the fact I’m considering it without having heard “Keep Away The Dead” in its entirety speaks for itself.
