Brooklyn’s Andrew Marr makes some sweet surf rock, and “A Game” is possibly my favorite song he has given us.
This song is perfect to throw onto just about any mix and the importance of a song like that shouldn’t be overlooked. Simple and well-layered. Each instrument held back and contained, it follows that rote west coast sixty’s format to the letter. Andrew’s on-point-but-nearly-static vocals are what really make this song come across so well.
This is the second Ski Lodge single to be put over the past month. There hasn’t been an official album announcement but I can only assume those songs are warning shots for something promising in the near future.
