What is it about a cold night and a solid breeze that makes a song like “Worried Blues” feel absolutely right. The song sounds great, and that’s not changing with the seasons, but why does fall cause a song with such hints of sadness to settle within and make us think “Yeah…I dig that” in such a Kerouacian jazz manner.
Without hesitation I can say that this is the best time of year. When I count on wearing a hooded sweatshirt everywhere I go and calm acoustic folk music takes on a whole new weight and meaning, this is when I feel the most alive, this is when I love music the most, “Worried Blues” is the ideal soundtrack to this moment.
As with most music I enjoy, I came across The Pines at random online and instantly got into their sound. It helps that they give out a whole lot of free music from their website, “Worried Blues” being one of those free songs. They have a very similar feel to The Milk Carton Kids and Megafaun which are solid references if you ask me.
This is definitely a song, like most great songs, that you need to be in the right mindset for and I’m hoping that the changing seasons sets the stage for this song to reach you at the right time as it did for me.
