Way back in 2011 The Shins finished up the work on their fourth album “Port Of Morrow”, which will be their first in five years when it’s released in March after 2007′s “Wincing The Night Away”.

Five years is a long time for a band. People leave, lives change, musical horizons are widened, points of views are skewed and so on, so up until today it was difficult to tell if the band (most famous for their Zach Braff-inducing “New Slang”) had changed in sound much, or not at all, or only a wee bit.

The money was on them either having gone in an Electro-Clash direction, or retreated into a cave by a lake and went down that Bluegrass-playing hermit route that so many others do, or if they’d just expand on their already well-nurtured sound. Well today you find out, and the answer is below in the form of “Simple Song”.
