Admittedly I’m not the biggest Tom Vek fan on the planet, mainly because I’ve only been listening to him for a handful of months, but the first time I did listen to his album I could hear why he’s so revered.
I could hear him single-handedly paving the way for bands like Friendly Fires, Test Icicles, and even future albums from Bloc Party and Minus The Bear, but he only ever released one album, 2005′s “We Have Sound”. There weren’t even any singles or EPs released afterwards, no collaborations with other artists….he wasn’t even picking up the bottles of milk that were building up outside his house, and people thought he’d done a Richey Edwards, literally hearing nothing from him until a couple of weeks ago when Zane Lowe announced he’d have the world premiere of a brand new song from a brand new album, “Leisure Seizure”.
“A Chore”, the first piece of music in six year from him, also got a visual premiere, and now tonight on Zane Lowe he gave his first interview as well as premiering his official Re-Edit of “A Chore”, and below you can hear the whole thing.
