Four years overdue, tonight we got our first listen to brand new solo Burial material, hopefully from an album that might come out this year.
Fuck, knowing Burial he’s probably already released the album and we just don’t know it yet….that Rebecca Black Dubstep remix WAS pretty tight after all. In the last four years he has collaborated with a number of other people, most recently on the super-limited 12″ with Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Four Tet’s Four Tet for the “Ego”/”Mirror” double A-side, but this will be the first new music by the dude himself.
Anyway, announced Wednesday morning as a three-track 12″ EP release on HyperDub, the A-side “Street Halo” is accompanied by two B-sides “NYC” and “Stolen Dog”, and the title track was played on Benji B’s radio show tonight, and below you can hear a radio rip of said tune (of course it’s got “radio bits” played over the top and they talk over it too much, but still), and I’ll update if and when the other tracks show up.
Update: They also played “Stolen Dog”, another track from the EP that you can hear below as well.
