[Listen] – Two New Songs By The Decemberists – “January Hymn” & “Row Jimmy”

On Monday The Decemberists released another video teaser for their upcoming album “The King Is Dead” and at the same time announced a brand new 7″ single that’s available now, but only from participating record stores and is not available online (yup, that means you’ll have to go outside to get it until they show up on eBay at an inflated price).

“January Hymn” is a newbie and “Row Jimmy” is a Grateful Dead cover, but not being a fan of the Dead I can’t comment on whether the cover does the original any justice or not, but being a first-time listener, it’s alright, I guess.  Apparently “January Hymn” will be on “The King is Dead” and is the second offering from said album, the first being “Down By The Water” that came out at the beginning of November.
