The same day we named Xander the Great Ones To Watch the London duo released a stream first official single, “Bloodhound” (the 7″ will be out March 4th in the UK). For a debut single it was certainly a big introduction, with its explosive chorus, dynamic flux and other neat production tricks, and it’s a bit of a shame that the timing turned out that way. Maybe what I’m saying is that if you haven’t heard it yet, please do.
Perhaps knowing that “Bloodhound” was so grand (“great”?) for the b-side of said single they’ve decided to tone things down a notch. The result is “Cold Skin,” which might just be their most mellow song to date. The percussion is much more constant this time around, and it features the most rapping we’ve heard yet from Xander – it’s still not exactly his forte, but he’s getting there.
Listen to the song below, and if you’re looking to find out more about the duo be sure to check out our interview with them.
