Carousel return with another instant favourite in “Open Road”. We fell in love with them over the last couple of months of 2011, with their upbeat, sunny sound providing the perfect antidote to the usual winter blues. All I can say is that I am now itching for summer, because their hook-laden synth-pop is going to sound great over a cold can on the beach. Yes, there are beaches in Britain, and sometimes the rain even holds off long enough to make use of them.
I’m looking forward to a full-length from the Boston threesome, but in the meantime “Open Road” will keep you shuffling your feet. And when that full-length does arrive … all I’ll say is Cut Copy? Watch out. Carousel are gunning for your crown.
