I’ve only lately discovered the majesty and charm of Dawes, a four-piece from North Hills, California.
Their debut album “North Hills” was released on August 18th last year and they’ve been steadily gaining momentum since. They’re classed generally as Americana with a bit of soul but think Ray LaMontagne meets The Coral meets Fleet Foxes, and with songs like “Bedside Manner” and “Take Me Out Of The City” they’re perfectly made for sitting your ass outside on a front porch rocking chair with the sun on your face, whisky in hand, whiling away the sunset.
Below you can hear two of their songs as well as watch a video they did for Yours Truly featuring The Morning Benders.
