[Listen/Download] – Entire New Album By The House Floor – “Warship”

An entire album being given away as a free download?  Those can be hard to come by these days, you might think that if someone is giving away an entire album they spent time recording, it must be pretty bad.  The digital equivalent of a second-hand shop and their bargain bins, you might think.  Well you think wrong!

Why would you be judgmental like that?

In the realm of entirely free full albums, this is by far the best I’ve heard.  They do have an option to buy on vinyl and whilst some albums just aren’t worth getting on vinyl, not only is this worth buying on vinyl but it’s worth paying something for it.  Free music like this just doesn’t come around every day.  When I listen to “Warship” I can hear the atmospheric dissonance of Interpol, the huge wall-of-sound crescendo of Arcade Fire, the ramshackle tidiness of Frightened Rabbit and the country heartbreak of Ryan Adams.

You can buy their album as a double vinyl LP that comes with a seven page handwritten lyrics book and a digital download too.  These guys put a hell of a lot of time and talent into this album, so if you have the cash, go to their site and buy the vinyl.
