This song came out in 2007 and is only just getting an official release.
Well, when I say it came out 2007, what I mean is that’s when Jai Paul (Jay Paul) recorded the demo and presumably passed it around for some peeps to hear, but nothing really happened until the tail end of 2009/start of 2010 when some blogs started posting it, then radio DJs like Zane Lowe got a hold of it and started playing it, and now….over a year later the dude has signed to XL Records and has released an official proper-recorded version.
If you’ve heard the demo then you might not hear much of a difference….I actually just spent a few minutes trying to sync them up and they’re pretty much identical, minus a few nuances in the background and the closing send-off, but either way you now have something you can shake your wallet at. I’ve been keeping tabs on this dude for a while now and there’s still nothing to be found about a release, and even when Zane Lowe premiered the official during the week he too knew nothing more about it. It seems like things are now starting to move though, so here’s hoping we get some new shit soon.
You can hear the official edit below and download the tune from iTunes.
