[Listen/Download] – King Charles – “Love Lust”

King Charles

Somehow, somewhere back in the day the British figured out how to make music.  From The Beatles to The Who to Belle and Sebastian the British consistently crank out excellent musicians.  Enough about the past; the time has come to add another rocker to the English resume: King Charles.

Hailing from London, King Charles has two EP’s available on iTunes and is currently working on his debut album, which is slated for release late 2010 or early 2011.  The EP “Love Lust/Mr. Flick” contains one of the catchiest songs I’ve ever heard, “Love Lust”, after one listen I had it stuck in my head for days.  The genre-defying tune would probably fit best in electronic folk / pop and is definitely worth a listen or two.

King Charles is currently touring the US with another breakout English band, Mumford & Sons.

mate we’ve been making real music a good 500 years before your country existed!

“Consistently crank out good musicians” implies that any musician in England is good. This is absolutely not the case. Maybe you’re sheltered in just such a position that you like all the music you happen to hear.

I think if some other area of land, less than half the size of Texas, consistently produced all the great music England does it would probably be noteworthy.
