[Listen/Download] – New Album By Jay-Z & Kanye West – “Watch The Throne”

This will be big.

Mainly because of those two heavyweights of Jay-Z and Kanye West at the epicentre of the album, but also because it’ll promise to throw up some really great songs and after the first track we heard from it (“H.A.M”) garnered a lukewarm reception, the second track “Otis” got a much better response, even though they made the big risk of sampling none other than the late, the great, the legendary Otis Redding.

I’m a big fan of both of these guys, specifically Kanye’s 808′s and his debut, and most of Jay-Z’s back catalogue but especially his early shit (or from “Reasonable Doubt” to “Blueprint”, so I’ve got high hopes for this album.  However, Jay-Z’s verse on Kanye’s “Monster” from last year worries, because it’s fucking atrocious.

    Too many cheesy samples, too many auto tunes, way too many name dropping. I do not like this album. I’m very disapointed. Maybe it’s because, I’m not the target. 
    I learnt something with this shit: Producing an album in a week does not make a good album.
