[Listen/Download] – New Song By Avey Tare Of Animal Collective – “Lucky 1″

For a good month or two there have been just as many Avey Tare fakes as there have been Daft Punk/Tron fakes, and I was prone to one of those fakes a few weeks back.

I figured that since Stereogum posted it, and they know what they’re talking about a damn sight more than I do, that it was legit, but no sooner had it been posted that it was confirmed to be a fake too.  But now this is straight from the horse’s mouth and it’s legit.  Taken from his first solo album (he released one with his wife back in 2007, and I guess technically Animal Collective’s first could be credited to him personally), “Down There” gets its legs on October 26th and judging by this new song, it definitely has hints of Animal Collective as a whole, but then also not.

Honestly, I’m feeling Panda Bear’s new solo stuff more than Avey’s, but we’ll see.  We’ll see.
