Conrad Plymouth just put out an EP, “Comrade Plymouth,” made up of B-sides from the upcoming full-length full-band album which is yet to have a title. With the promise of a more rounded sound in the works I’m enjoying this all the more. I find Christopher Porterfield to be one of the stronger solo performers around and would be just as satisfied if this were the finished product.
“I Am Not Waiting Anymore,” the opening track off of the EP, is a clear example of the progress Porterfield has made in the time that has passed since putting out his self-titled album last May. All that potential and promise is beginning to blossom into a songwriter with confidence and skill proving even more how deserving he is to finally be out from under the shadow of having played alongside Justin Vernon in Megafaun, which should, from this point on, be merely a cliff note to his story rather than the justification of his talent.
You can download “I Am Not Waiting Anymore” as well as the entire “Comrade Plymouth” album through the Bandcamp link below, it’s name-your-own-price so you can be as cheap or as lavish as your heart desires.
