When you’re being touted as “one of the best young bands in America” you know that you’ve probably arrived. But you also know that you’d damn well better produce something that will make people believe it. Luckily for us Filligar are doing just that.
Having self-released 5 albums and done amazingly well on the live circuit (including sharing the stage with greats like The Black Keys and BB King) latest album “The Nerve” packs a punch and amazes us that a band made up of members who have only just graduated can knock some of the more established acts for six.
Latest single “Health” is the song I’m featuring here and it’s a great number with the band in full on rock and roll mode. It’s one of those tracks that makes you feel like you’ve entered a time warp and woken up in the 60s or 70s with one of the greats on the radio, such an assured sound it is. Although it harks back to those heady days the boys have added their own twist to the sound which brings it screaming up to date. I’m not ashamed to say that it got me rocking out (luckily no one was home when I was listening to it!).
I’ve just discovered that they’re touring the UK at the moment so you lucky Brits will get a chance to catch them live, I’d certainly recommend it. If you can’t get to see them you can download their album here
