John Darnielle is an awfully prolific guy. His band, The Mountain Goats, are set to release their 18th studio album, “All Eternal’s Deck”, March 29th on Merge Records. This is the band’s first since 2009′s “The Life of the World to Come”.
The band has released the first song off of the new album “Damn These Vampires”, and it’s a gorgeous little tune. It showcases Darnielle’s distinct vocals, as well as his strengths as a lyricist. I can confidently say that if you are already a fan of The Mountain Goats, you will definitely adore this track. It fits in perfectly with the rest of The Mountain Goats discography, but if you are new to the band, I would still say to give it a shot! It’s a good one. This is has definitely made me excited about the new album!
The Mountain Goats will be touring the East Coast of North America in March and April along with Megafun and you can download “Damn These Vampires” below.
