New music from The Tallest Man On Earth = old music from The Tallest Man On Earth.
Any music from The Tallest Man On Earth = AWESOME!
I’m fine with not saying anything else and leaving the post here, but I’ll give you a little back-story. Back in 2006 when Kristian Matsson was but a lad he released a self-titled EP, a swirling, soaring Indie-Folk strum-along, harnessing the early years of Bob Dylan but without the political slant. Another EP and two albums later his label Dead Oceans are re-releasing that first EP on vinyl, but maybe more importantly it includes the brand new song “In The Pockets” that is actually a brand old song that was just left off the EP when it was initially released.
Five years after that debut EP, Kristian’s new stuff still doesn’t wander too far away from his standard sound, so you probably don’t really have to think too much about what it’s going to sound like here, but this guy could record himself trying to fly and teaching clouds how to play the guitar and it’d still sound amazing, and if you’ve never heard any of his stuff before his second album released last year made my Top 31 Albums Of 2010 list, so go check it out.
