Back at the start of August I posted “Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves)”, the first new track from The Wombats’ upcoming second album due out in February 2011.
For some reason I seemed to be the only guy around who gave a shit, and then all of a sudden a couple of weeks ago I started seeing other sites and blogs posting it as if it had just turned up. Then last week the band released “Jump Into The Fog” as a free download, our second helping of new music taken from their new album.
So far from the two cuts that I’ve heard from the album they definitely sound like they’ve matured in the last three years which as we know can be good and bad. “Jump Into The Fog” has the staple sound you’d expect from the band but also has a little more atmosphere. They’re traversing that fine line between mainstream and indie and whilst the song isn’t mindblowing it’s still a decent song.
