[Listen/Download] – New Song By Vivian Girls – “I Heard You Say”

Brooklyn lo-fi poppers, Vivian Girls, are going to be bringing you some more of their classic garage-rock and girl-group inspired tunes this Spring. The trio has announced that their third album, “Share The Joy”, will be released April 12th on Polyvinyl Records (this is their first release for the label) and they’ve offered up a track off of that new album – “I Heard You Say”.

“I Heard You Say” is a bit more low-key than Vivian Girls usual shambling and fast-paced tunes, however it’s still quite the lovely track. Instead of noisy and distorted Jesus And Mary Chain-style guitars, we get something a bit more subdued. A bit more twee and jangly than fuzzy and loud – and I have to say it works quite nicely. As always, the track showcases Cassie Ramone’s unique and beautiful vocals, as well as a catchy chorus.

After hearing this track, I am quite excited to listen to “Share The Joy” and hear what direction the band will take on this new album.  They’ll be touring North America with The Black Lips from February to April, and in the meantime you can download “I Heard You Say” below.
