[Listen/Download] – New Song By Washed Out – “You And I”

Love it or hate it, the term “chillwave” looks like it’s here to stay. Personally I don’t mind it but it’s also only a matter of time before it starts becoming mainstream and is applied to artists that aren’t “chillwave” or will start spawning manufactured artists cashing in on the huge cash cow that is the “chillwave” movement.  If there’s any money left in the music business these days, it’s in chillwave.  That’s undeniable, Chazzy Bundick is already a millionaire.

Anyway, another stalwart in this whole chillwave movement is Ernest Greene, otherwise known as Washed Out.  His cassette-only released EP “High Times” was a huge critical success last year, as was his EP “Life Of Leisure”, also released in 2009.  There’s no album just yet but there better be one soon, I’m getting impatient!

Below you can hear the brand new song “You And I” featuring Caroline Polachek from Chairlift. It was released by Adult Swim as part of their “8 Free Tracks, 8 Straight Weeks” project which has so far been pretty damn impressive.  Check back next week for what’s sure to be another sweet tune.
