The last time we heard new music from Zola Jesus was at the end of June when I wasn’t even suppposed to have the track, but due to some screw-up they gave the song away as a download and of course I posted it.
Anyway, this time around we ARE allowed to have the track because it was recorded live as part of a Daytrotter session that they just posted online. The track, “Avalanche”, is taken from Zola‘s upcoming second album “Conatus” which is due out on October 4th and has that same kind of rhythmic burning that we heard on “Vessel” showcasing her (at times purposely) restrained vocal talents and the power of her voice.
