Having visited Innovative Leasiure‘s website a few times lately trying to see if there’s a pre-order page yet for Nick Waterhouse‘s debut album, there’s been a wee picture in the bottom right of their site for an artist called Rhye, though no music was available and there was nothing to be heard via Bandcamp or the like.
Yesterday, though, that all changed. Their debut track “Open” was released though still with few details, though we do know their debut 12″ is now available (b/w “Hunger” and “Three Days”) and it’s fronted by Mike Milosh from Toronto who’s released a couple of solo albums.
With this one sparse, falsetto-driven electronically-chilled track, though, they’ve done nothing but excite us for the rest of the year in hopes of hearing more like it, and make sure to watch the video below of Mike performing it in his living room. Absolutely stunning.
