Swede’s Surrounded have been around for years, having released two albums already with their third set for release in Europe in October and North America in February 2011.
You’re guaranteed at least one awesome thing with Surrounded, but chances are you’ll get more. The one you’re guaranteed is majesty, the ones you’ll find along the way are grandiose-pop, swells of emotion, pulled heartstrings, and Grandaddy-esque quirkyness. Their upcoming third album “Oppenheimer and Woodstock” is sure to take them that extra leap like The National did from “Boxer” to “High Violet”.
Speaking of The National, they covered their beautiful “Bloodbuzz Ohio” from “High Violet” and it’s a wondrously slow-paced take on The National’s rousing album version. You can hear that below as well as three other songs, two new ones and one from their previous album “The Nautilus Years”.
