Since Ted Leo and The Pharmacists are currently touring the SW States I gave their sixth full length album, “The Brutalist Bricks”, a quick listen and was pleasantly surprised with the song, “Bottled In Cork”. The song takes about twenty seconds to find its stride but easily settles into a smooth indie rock sound that Ted Leo has built his name on.
Since the band formed in 1999 Ted Leo and the Pharmacists have been a cross-genre act, incorporating everything from folk to reggae to punk rock. “The Brutalist Bricks” strays to the indie punk rock side of the spectrum which draws you in and before you know it you listened to half the album.
