The Morning Benders‘ singer Chris Chu has been fairly active lately in giving away covers, remixes, new version of older songs, and unreleased jams we’ve never heard before.
Just a few days ago he dropped their cover of Bob Dylan’s “Outlaw Blues” and a day later dropped “Oh Annie”, an unreleased song he regrettably left off of their last album “Big Echo”. Again tonight he’s posted “Grain Of Salt (Big Echo Version)” another track that never made it to an album that you can hear below. It was apparently the first song he ever wrote towards the end of recording their debut album “Talking Through Tin Cans” and then was subsequently released as part of a “Grain Of Salt” EP, the title track being different from this version.
It’s a gorgeous song if you haven’t heard it before, spritely, bright, carefree and loved-up with xylophones and some sexy French talk. If you’re a long-time fan then this is nothing new to you but it’s still a reminder of how good these guys are, giving us something to look forward to whenever they start dropping new stuff from a new album.
