Back in 2008 I discovered Theresa Andersson after I stumbled on some of her homemade YouTube videos where she’d made this setup in her kitchen and performed songs using delay pedals and loop-repeaters and repeaty-loop-delay-thingers and a turntable and her feet. She released her second album that year, “Hummingbird, Go!” but it went widely unnoticed, save for a few well-received album reviews.
Fast-forward three years and she’s, for the most part, shed that joyous, saccharine shine that glossed the songs on “Hummingbird, Go!” and in turn replaced it with a much bigger sound.
The message is still of the utmost positivity, but with massive drums and fat, fat horns not heard on her last album. “What Comes Next” is taken from her new album “Street Parade”, due out on April 24th via Basin Street Records, and you can get your hands on the MP3 of it below.
