At the end of September 2010 I introduced you to Headless Horseman, a duo from New York who had just released a five-song EP called….”5songs” that was packed with experimental Lo-Fi oddities and layered with unusual vocal hooks and misplaced harmonies.
It was this combination of differences that brought everything together so well and had me listening to the EP for days and days on end, and now they’ve released another couple of songs that were supposed to be part of a 7″ release in January on TwoSyllable but that never happened, and now they’re supposed to be part of a 7″ at some point in time on some label or other, but the single does sport a remix done by Mikey Sanders of Blackbird Blackbird notoriety.
The new jams? They’re good, although they seem like they’re only half done; there’s either something missing or they end far too quickly, but I’m still hearing the HTDW influence in the recording and they’re still doing weird little things with the songs like slightly off-key singing and chipmunk-esque melodies. You can grab them below and check back for more as they release that 7″.
