[Listen/Watch] – New Gauntlet Hair Video – I Was Thinking
One of my most loved discoveries of 2010 so far is Gauntlet Hair, a duo from Lafayette, Colorado creating catchy lo-fi, layered garage-rock, with a huge beat.
I featured them about a month ago and included three of their songs. At that time they had only just revealed they were releasing their debut single “I Was Thinking” as a 7″ on Forest Family Records, the same guys who released Cults’ debut single. Well even though there’s still no official release date yet (it can’t be much longer) there is now an official video for it.
The video was shot by Caitlin McNichols and has the duo frolicking around what’s presumably the Colorado snow-covered mountains with “their” dog (the one above). The dog is fucking awesome and if they take it on tour with them I do intend to steal it the first chance I get.
Have a watchy and watchy an unofficial fan-vid for “I Was Thinking” too.
UPDATE: You can now pre-order their debut 7″ single “I Was Thinking”.

This sounds like every other band pitchfork decides is boring enough to be acceptable on the internet for 10 minutes. I really don’t understand how waves of bands that sound exactly the same gain recognition at the same time… the thought process behind this music seems so repulsive to me. They hear bands like cults, best coast, etc., and they wish they had done it first, but ultimately are to cowardly and slow moving to do anything first. So we get these rashes of bands that, like an incestuous family, become weaker and more retarded in their mountain homes. The music has transparent skin and no immune system through bored and inclusive breeding, and should never leave the forest of narcissism.
So you like it, then?
