Definitely, one of the most multi-dimensional bands out today, Portugal. The Man has been teasing us, literally with 30 second teasers. However, they’ve released this mini-epic, for their new singles off their upcoming album, “In the Mountain In the Cloud”. Here, John Gourley, PTM’s frontman, ventures through the freezing cold mountains of Alaska (perhaps Wasilla, AK, the band’s hometown) to tracks, “Sleep Forever” and “Got It All (This Can’t Be Living Now).” The video looks like Fargo meets Snow Dogs but with a twist.
Portugal. The Man has been so dedicated to their music that they have been writing whilst on tour. From the video below, we can see how their journey – be it personal or not – has taken form in their music. Directed by Michael Ragan, his creative and illusive mind takes over in the interlude as the songs transition and throughout to the end of the video. And you have to give it up to Gourley, while I’m sure he’s a great actor, he sells the ending well, looking damn tired running through the cold snow.
