What the fuck, Franky B Rockafeller, if that is indeed my real name!?
I’ve only gone and Introduced The History Of Apple Pie in one of those months that happen every year but in this case it happened in 2010 when it wasn’t quite as hot as it was the month before and not as cold as the month following it. So I introduce them and then do you guys a disservice by not following up with them as they grew and took over the world and I ended up missing their official debut single and video! Someone kick me in the goolies.
If you listen to their song “Tug” it should do more than just make you like it, it should impress the pants off’a you, a deranged Lo-Fi rumble of a song with one of those instantly likable melodies that pins itself to the back of your head so that your tiny T-Rex arms can’t reach it. With “You’re So Cool” they’ve done the same thing but with a more jaunty vibe to it whilst still keeping that demanding, infectiously hazy sound.
They’ve released the video for “You’re So Cool” and also gave a new track to NME back in June that you can snag below too. If you’re into vinyl you should pick up a copy of their 7″ version of “You’re So Cool” on translucent red wax. Mmm….apples.
