On Channel Four in the U.K. for the last couple of months or so there’s been a show (Live From Abbey Road) where some of the lesser-known artists in the British music scene have set up shop at the famous Abbey Road Studios in London to record and rework some of their own numbers.
Previous participants have been Mount Kimbie and Trophy Wife, and now the former’s friend and collaborator James Blake has done the same, performing two of the singles from his breakout debut self-titled LP, a gorgeous version of “Lindisfarne” and one of the best songs of the year “The Wilhelm Scream“, and the start of each video also has a wee interview with him too where he talks about writing, producing, and creating new music, as well as the influence his dad had on his music.
